Things have been quiet outside for a few weeks, but activity now has started in front of the main entrance. Grading and foundations for sidewalks, steps and planter boxes has started.

There will be a small service/parking area on the Mammoth Oaks Drive side. Concrete curbs were laid this week for this.

Fine tuning in the worship space!

Wood flooring has been installed on one of the choir risers.

This shows some of the stonework on the chancel wall along with trim work and sconce lights. The large opening will be filled by a large LED display (think very large TV screen!).

Wood trim and baseboards are being installed in the balcony.

Also in the balcony control booth, the audio-visual installers have started pulling in wiring.

And now that the wood ceiling in the worship space is complete, and you have forgotten what is above that wood ceiling, here's a reminder of the five levels of catwalks, electrical conduit and HVAC ductwork that is running above everybody's heads.

Ceiling tiles have been installed in the Upper Commons lobby and Lower Commons lobby (see next picture).

And on the two stairwells connecting the Upper Commons and Lower Commons, the large light fixtures are in. Looks pretty upscale, doesn't it?

Elsewhere around the building, door frames upstairs and downstairs where the new building connects with the Ministry Center are being installed.

Countertops are being installed in the bathrooms. Looks like rich black onyx!

Wallpaper has been installed in the bathrooms. Light green against the stone tile looks great!

The portico and columns around the outside door for The Pit are finished.

In the week ahead:
  • Carpet in the worship space
  • Wood flooring in the chancel
  • Wall paint in The Pit
  • Partitions in the bathrooms
  • Final wall paint in classrooms
  • Flooring (carpet, VCT and wood) in The Pit and classrooms
  • Second coat of wall paint in lobbies
