It's a little hard to see in this picture due to the bright sunlight, but the building name now is on the building.

And as long as we were at it, and now that we a truly multiple buildings, the naming of the buildings on the exterior was carried to our other buildings.

Some other outside changes include new landscaping on both sides of the current sanctuary entrance. This is part of the master landscape plan being put into action across our Providence Road "face".

Another exterior change is the patching of the parking lot.  Construction traffic has been hard on the parking lot, so some fix-up and patching was in order!

Hopefully you saw the evolution of the front steps in pictures during the past several weeks. Now the sidewalk and driveway in front of the building have been laid.

Weather has cooperated for the past several days which has allowed some progress on the new parking lot. The mound of dirt is slowly disappearing, and the flat parking surface is expanding.

And the initial landscaping for the new parking lot started this week. This row of trees along the edge of Mammoth Oaks Drive should look really good in three or four years.

And inside, carpet the back half of the Lower Commons is being laid. This stretch is along the coffee counter and café area.

This floor has not been cleaned, but this bright, shiny floor is in a lower level electrical/audio-visual room. Pretty nice for a mechanical space!

This is The Pit stage. Notice the two large silver rectangles. Those are audio-visual screens. Great accessories for the stage!

This is the coffee counter. Guess where one of the favorite Sunday morning hangout places will be!!!

More little finishing touches: water fountains.

More little finishing touches: room signs.

More finishing touches: mirrors in the bathrooms.

Now for some really good stuff!

Assembly and placement of pews is complete. Now they are bolting them down to the floor. Then come seat cushions.

The organ console is actually in the new building! It's not installed, and we have had to pry Mark Glaeser off of it several times already, but it will be making music before long!

And if you wondered just how many speakers it takes for an electronic church organ, the answer is "A BUNCH!"

The custom-made baptismal bowl is finished and ready for shipping. The base upon which this bowl will sit is being made by our church woodworkers from the white oak trees that were cut down at the beginning of the project.

At the crack of dawn this past Tuesday morning........gorgeous against an awesome cobalt blue morning sky!
